Castello Dal Pozzo

Grand, ancient,completely unapologetic

Castello Dal Pozzo rises above the western shore of Lago Maggiore on a forested promontory: a genuine medieval castle that keeps its history and its authority. Where Villa Frua is intimate and elegant, the castle is grand and ancient, and it makes every celebration feel larger.

We documented a two-day Indian wedding here, the second day following a civil ceremony at Villa Frua. Within the castle walls the celebration became larger, louder and more openly joyful, and it was one of the most extraordinary weddings we have ever documented.

I

The approach

Through the estate gates and up through the parkland, the castle appears gradually through the trees: first a tower, then the roofline, then the full facade. By the time guests arrive they are already somewhere else entirely.

II

The gardens

The formal gardens provide a natural stage for ceremony and portraits: symmetrical, immaculate and framed by the castle walls and the ancient parkland.

III

The interiors

Stone-vaulted rooms, frescoed halls and grand staircases offer getting-ready and portrait locations that do not exist in modern venues. We always recommend dedicating time to them.

IV

The lake

Views across Lago Maggiore are present throughout the estate. The castle and the lake exist in constant dialogue, and we use it in every part of the day.

Plan your weekend

Combine the castlewith another venue

The castle works well as one day of a two-venue weekend, for example with Villa Frua, or with Grand Hotel Bristol for a different atmosphere on the same lake.

Questions

Good to know

Have you photographed weddings at Castello Dal Pozzo?

Yes, as the second day of a two-venue Indian wedding, following a civil ceremony at Villa Frua. We know the castle, the grounds and the light well and are happy to talk through both venues on a first call.

Do you recommend combining it with another venue?

Yes, particularly Villa Frua for a two-day structure, or Grand Hotel Bristol for a different atmosphere on the same lake.

Do you offer both photography and film?

Yes. Photography, film and content are created by one team under one creative direction, so everything feels consistent.

Do you cover multi-day celebrations?

Absolutely. Many of our couples celebrate over a full weekend, from the welcome dinner to the farewell brunch.

How far in advance should we book?

Because we take on only about 15 weddings a year, we recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date and venue in mind. Many couples book 12 to 18 months ahead.
